Our Opportunity

Work Location:  Eliwana - Fortescue's Eliwana mine is located on the traditional lands of the Puutu Kunti Kurrama & Pinikura (PKKP) People.

 

Roster:  14D14R ex Perth

 

At Fortescue we are in the process of transforming our energy assets to achieve our climate change targets of zero emissions by 2030. Reporting to the Energy Operations Eliwana Electrical Supervisor you will join a technically disciplined team and demonstrate an ability to deliver against a wide variety of Mechanical activities which is essential to our teams success.

 

The Eliwana Power Station is comprised of 15 XQ2000 generators with a 3516B Caterpillar engine for a total 24 MW capacity & The village power station is comprised of 3 XQ2000 generators for a total of 4.8 MW of generation.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Execute routine and major mechanical maintenance actives across all power generation assets in accordance with the maintenance plan.
  • Operate and maintain diesel reciprocating engines and electrical power generation equipment.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in a safe manner, weekly plans are adhered and that daily tasks do not affect the supply of power to the business.
  • Ensure statutory compliance is adhered too. In relation to classified plant and the environment.
  • Compliance to SAP maintenance strategies, plan work and avoid reactive maintenance.  

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • A Mechanical trade qualification
  • Experience with engine overhauls and midlife services of large diesel engines
  • Extensive experience with fault finding and repairing diesel engines
  • Experience with fault finding electronic engine control and sensor systems
  • Experience working in the power generation industry.
  • A current "C Class" WA Manual Driver’s License
  • HR Driver’s license – Desirable
  • High Risk Work Licenses in LF, WP, DG
  • Basic Rigging – Desirable
  • Experience and an understanding of Work Management Processes & Practices.
  • Experience with SAP at Tradesperson Level (desirable)
