Are you ready to take your career to the next level, where every day brings new challenges and the chance to make a real impact? We’re seeking a highly skilled, motivated Emergency Services Officer (ESO) to join our onsite emergency response and medical team.
As an ESO, you’ll be a key member of our emergency response team, playing a vital role in protecting the safety and wellbeing of our people and assets. You’ll actively respond to emergency incidents across site, while also supporting the smooth operation of our emergency services and medical teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain Emergency Readiness: Conduct regular inspections and compliance checks on emergency equipment, ensuring all assets are fully operational and ready for immediate response.
- Medical Support: Provide medical services onsite and ensure medical facilities remain fully equipped, compliant, and operational at all times.
- Promote Site Safety: Administer site fitness-for-work programs, including monitoring and enforcement of company Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) policies.
- Emergency Planning & Drills: Plan, coordinate, and actively participate in emergency response drills to build site readiness and strengthen team capabilities.
- Personal Preparedness: Maintain the required level of physical fitness necessary to perform emergency response duties, as outlined by company standards.
Qualifications and Experience
- Certificate III in Mine Emergency Response & Rescue or Certificate III in Public Safety (Firefighting & Emergency Operations).
- Certificate IV in Health Care (minimum)—higher qualifications such as a Diploma or Degree in Emergency Health Care or Paramedicine will be highly regarded.
- Proven capability in core emergency disciplines, including:
- Rope Rescue
- Road Crash Rescue
- Firefighting
- Confined Space Rescue
- Breathing Apparatus (Open Circuit)
- Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) Response
- Western Australian HR Driver’s Licence (mandatory).
- Solid hands-on experience in emergency response operations, including incident control and incident management within high-risk environments.
- Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety (WHS) and/or Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE) highly regarded, though not essential.
- Prior emergency response experience in mining, resources, or remote site environments.
- Calm, decisive, and resilient under pressure.
