Location: Iron Bridge - Fortescue Iron Bridge is located on the traditional lands of the Nyamal people.
Roster: 4D 3R FIFO ex Perth
We are seeking an Engineering Specialist - ACL to join our Iron Bridge team on a 12-month fixed term contract. In this role, you will provide high-impact engineering support across maintenance and reliability, with a strong focus on strategic upgrades, performance improvement initiatives, and ensuring the OPF operates at its full potential. This position requires agility, technical breadth, and the ability to work across diverse stakeholders to deliver meaningful operational outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide engineering support across Maintenance and Reliability teams to drive strategic outcomes.
- Lead or support upgrade projects that improve asset performance and plant optimisation.
- Align engineering activities with long-term plant strategy and nameplate capacity objectives.
- Reverse-engineer upgrade requirements from strategic targets to inform future plant direction.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure cohesive project delivery.
- Maintain broad technical capability to respond to changing plant priorities and emerging issues.
Qualifications and Experience
- 5+ years’ fixed plant or rotating equipment engineering/maintenance experience in mining, processing, or heavy industry.
- Strong background in asset performance optimisation and structured change initiatives.
- Demonstrated project management experience in an operating processing environment.
- Clear and concise communication skills, including effective stakeholder engagement.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical or Electrical preferred) or equivalent technical qualifications.
- Sound understanding of WHS legislation, risk management practices, and relevant Australian/ISO standards.
