Environment Advisor
Our Opportunity
Location: Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.
Roster: Monday to Friday
The Environment Advisor role will provide support to the Environment Governance function to achieve agreed deliverables, including supporting the continual improvement of Fortescue’s environmental management system, preparing environmental regulatory reports, and providing support for compliance and approvals implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordination and preparation of annual regulatory reports, construction compliance reports and emissions data for external agencies and internal stakeholders.
- Support Operations team with incident investigations, inspections and audits.
- Support the change management process between approvals and operations.
- Contribute to the continual improvement of Fortescue’s environmental management system.
- Support Principal and Senior Environmental Advisors in the Environment Governance team as required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Management, or Engineering.
- 2-3 years minimum experience in the resource sector, preferably in a similar environmental role.
- Knowledge of West Australian environmental legislation and guidelines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft software applications.
- Strong report writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to coordinate, prioritize, and organize tasks effectively.
- Experience building positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Understanding of the Pilbara environment (desirable).
