We're looking for a values-driven environmental professional to join our dedicated team and support the delivery of Fortescue’s Biodiversity Offsets programs. This role is a unique opportunity to contribute to meaningful environmental outcomes in the Pilbara region and help ensure our operations remain in step with both nature and policy.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll work closely with our Principal Environmental Specialist to:
- Support the implementation of biodiversity offsets under both State and Federal environmental legislation
- Develop and roll out Biodiversity Offset Strategies
- Prepare and maintain Impact Reconciliation Procedures (IRP) and Reports (IRR) alongside our Geospatial Services team
- Build relationships and collaborate with regulatory bodies and local stakeholders to ensure alignment with our environmental commitments
Qualifications and Experience
We’re seeking someone with a strong ecological foundation who is curious, collaborative, and committed to sustainable outcomes.

- 5–10 years’ experience in an environmental role (industry or government)
- Familiarity with West Australian environmental law and the EPBC Act
- Experience in developing or delivering Biodiversity Offset programs (highly regarded)
- Knowledge of the Pilbara environment and its unique challenges
- Competence with GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS)
- A collaborative and respectful communication style
- Ability to build positive, trust-based relationships
- Clear and thoughtful report writing
- Strong organisational and coordination skills
- A tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Management or a related field
