Our Opportunity

 

Work Location: Perth, Western Australia.  Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.

 

Roster:  Monday to Friday.

 

This role will challenge the full range of your geospatial analyst skills to deliver exceptional geospatial services to multiple functions and departments within Fortescue, assisting them to achieve goals and strive for better and safer outcomes.

 

You will be challenged to apply critical thinking and problem solving, be detail orientated, manage a diverse workload and priorities, interface with a variety of disciplines, be adaptable to changing scopes and timeframes, and deliver quality and timely outputs and solutions.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Provide geospatial support; map production and visualisations, data management and spatial analysis, for a range of departments within Fortescue.
  • Produce high quality map and data outputs, suitable for inclusion in government reporting and external submissions, utilising a variety of data sources across diverse themes and disciplines.
  • Provide training and transfer skills and operational knowledge to business clients and conduct knowledge shares with geospatial staff.
  • Work from our request management system or as allocated and directed by your Lead, ensuring all your work is logged and delivered within agreed SLAs and as required by stakeholders.
  • Adhere to Fortescue’s geospatial procedures and processes for your work. Maintain and promote the use of geospatial standards, governance, procedures, templates, folder/filing structures and the request management system.
  • Stay informed on developments across relevant geospatial software suites and technologies, contribute on how improvements can enhance Fortescue geospatial processes and services.

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • At least 3+ years of geospatial experience via industry experience or tertiary studies (Essential).
  • Proficiency, knowledge and experience with geospatial software applications and platforms - Esri ArcGIS Pro & ArcMap (Essential).
  • Experience of geospatial service delivery for business clients from a range of disciplines, with excellent verbal and written skills and a strong focus on quality and standards (Essential).
  • High level of geospatial data management skills, including auditing, QA/QC, cleansing spatial datasets for accuracy and reliability, ETL and editing skills within ArcSDE and SQL databases (Essential).
  • Experience with Esri Enterprise stack; knowledge of best practices for data management and governance with Portal, building Portal web applications (Maps, Scenes, Dashboards), familiarity with ArcGIS Server and Data Store (Desirable).
  • Experience with FME, Global Mapper, VertiGIS Studio/GeoCortex, Terra Explorer Pro (Desirable).
