Roster: Monday – Friday (with occasional travel to site and international locations)
The Group Manager (GM) of Integrated Technology will be responsible for overseeing the global technology strategy, cyber security, cloud / infrastructure, data management, and digital transformation of the global organisation. You will ensure that the Fortescue's operational technology and information system platforms support business goals, enhance operational efficiency, and drive innovation within the organisations global operations. The role will also involve fostering a culture of collaboration between technology and business leaders to align IT solutions with the Fortescue’s strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of Fortescue’s Integrated Technology strategy, driving digital transformation, cybersecurity, and technology adoption in alignment with corporate goals.
- Oversee the Operational Technology and Integrated department, including staff management, budget, resource allocation, and serving as a strategic advisor to the executive team on technology trends and solutions.
- Manage and secure the company’s IT infrastructure, networks, and systems, ensuring service availability, performance, and reliability while developing cybersecurity policies and data protection protocols.
- Drive digital transformation by implementing new technologies (e.g., data analytics, IoT, AI) to optimise operations and enhance safety in mining and energy divisions.
- Lead the integration of technology solutions across supply chain, production, and exploration functions, focusing on cost reduction and process optimisation.
- Lead the development and execution of data management strategies to ensure accuracy, accessibility, security, and support AI advancement within Fortescue.
- Oversee the implementation of data analytics tools to enhance decision-making, operational efficiency, and performance, while collaborating with other departments to drive business outcomes.
- Manage relationships with technology vendors, partners, and third-party service providers, negotiating contracts, overseeing SLAs, and ensuring alignment of IT projects with business needs, quality, and budget.
- Report quarterly to the Audit Finance Risk Management Committee (AFRMC) and ensure compliance with industry regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Establish IT governance frameworks, overseeing audits and assessments to ensure proper control, risk management, and adherence to security, privacy, and operational standards.
Qualifications and Experience
- Demonstrated experience leading large-scale, global IT transformation initiatives across multiple regions and business units.
- Experience managing complex global IT operations, including infrastructure, applications, and service delivery models.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Information Technology is a plus.
- 10+ years of experience in IT leadership roles, with at least 5 years in senior management positions
- Experience in the mining, energy, or industrial sector is preferred.
- Proven track record of driving digital transformation and technology innovation.
- Strong understanding of enterprise systems, cloud technologies, big data, and advanced analytics.
- Expertise in IT infrastructure management, cybersecurity, and data governance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to align IT strategy with business goals and deliver measurable outcomes.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage complex projects and teams.
- Familiarity with mining operations and industry-specific software systems is highly desirable.
- Strong strategic thinker with the ability to balance short-term needs with long-term goals.
- Results-driven with a focus on delivering operational efficiency and business value.
