Roster: 7D/7N/14R - FIFO ex Perth

 

Fortescue is seeking experienced and dedicated HD Fitters to join our Ancillary Team, Diggers & Drills Team, and Trucks Team at Christmas Creek. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring our heavy mobile equipment operates safely and efficiently, supporting the mine's ongoing success.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on heavy mobile equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems to minimise downtime.
  • Conduct equipment inspections and implement preventative maintenance measures.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve performance targets and maintain operational efficiency.
  • Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with Fortescue’s policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Proven experience as a Heavy Diesel Fitter within the mining industry, with expertise in one or more of the following:
    • Ancillary equipment: CAT - loaders, graders, dozers and service trucks.
    • Diggers and drills: hydraulic shovels, excavators, and rotary drills.
    • Haul trucks: CAT 793/797 or Komatsu 930E/830E.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and experience working with hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
  • Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology (or equivalent).
  • High attention to detail, troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to safety.
  • Ability to work autonomously and effectively as part of a team.
