  • Fortescue’s Solomon mine is located on the traditional lands of the Eastern Guruma and Yindjibarndi peoples.

 

Roster: 7D7N14R FIFO ex. Perth and Busselton

As a Heavy Diesel Fitter at Fortescue's Western Hub, you will play a pivotal role in our transformative journey towards becoming a global leader in green energy and iron ore production. Your expertise will be essential in maintaining and optimising Heavy Mobile Equipment (HME) critical to our operations, ensuring they operate efficiently and in alignment with our ambitious sustainability goals. Our lifestyle roster means that you can balance your work and family life. Key Responsibilities

 

  • Maintenance of large-scale Mobile Mining Equipment.
  • Embrace continuous learning to acquire new skills and disciplines, supporting the seamless transition to the incoming Green Fleet.
  • Cultivate a "Never Ever Give Up" attitude to grow in a dynamic and innovative technological environment.
  • Diagnostics and fault finding.
  • Workshop and pit duties as required.
  • Work in collaboratively with all mobile maintenance teams to achieve 100% schedule compliance.
  • Ensure Fortescue and site operations procedures and policies are followed.

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Australian Recognised Trade Certificate as a Heavy Duty (HD) Fitter or Diesel Mechanic for Heavy Mobile Equipment (HME).
  • Previous experience working in the mining industry.
  • Experience with mobile plant equipment. 
  • Exposure to Electric HME will be highly regarded.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety.
