Our Opportunity
Work Location: Redcliffe – Fortescue’s Perth office’s are located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk Noongar people
Roster: Monday to Friday
In support of Fortescue’s strong focus on green energy and our carbon neutrality targets, one of our key initiatives will be in our Heavy Industry projects whereby we will develop and test a range of technologies to power our mining fleet and rail locomotives
This role is responsible for supporting the Heavy Industry Business Unit to drive business growth and enhance organizational performance. This role involves conducting market analysis, financial forecasting, and competitive research to inform strategic decisions. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with the company’s long-term goals and monitors the effectiveness of implemented strategies, adjusting as necessary to achieve desired outcomes. This position is pivotal in shaping the company’s strategic direction and ensuring its sustained success in a competitive market.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse sales, market & operational metrics data to identify trends, forecast demand, evaluate business performance and provide actionable insights
- Develop and maintain tools and templates that support robust business planning outcomes, including scenario analysis
- Develop pricing strategies and models based on market research, production costs, and competitive analysis to maximize profitability
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations for management, highlighting business performance, market trends, and strategic opportunities
- Perform customer segmentation analysis to identify high-value customers and target marketing and business development efforts more effectively
- Conduct risk analysis on commercial activities, identifying potential financial, market, or operational risks and proposing mitigation strategies
- Track the performance of implemented strategies and recommend any necessary adjustments to achieve strategic priorities.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Relevant experience in data analysis, financial modelling, and market research.
- Proficiency in analytical software (e.g., Excel, SAP, Power BI), strong problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights.
- Understanding of financial structures and contractual documents.
- Works closely with all teams and functions to ensure alignment and effective implementation of strategic initiatives.
