Our Opportunity

Work Location: Solomon. Fortescue’s Solomon mine is located on the traditional lands of the Eastern Guruma and Yindjibarndi peoples.

 

Roster: 4D/3R – FIFO ex Perth

 

Joining our Ore Processing Plant Facility team and reporting to the Superintendent Engineering and Reliability, the Hydrocarbon Specialist responsible for leading end-to-end management of critical asset lubrication from oil analysis, lubricant selection, failure analysis, maintenance procedures and execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Being a safety leader and engage with personnel to drive a Zero Harm culture.
  • Critical asset oil analysis.
  • Provide technical support and recommendations as a subject matter expert to improve the reliability of equipment and lead and implement projects to improve equipment reliability, such as identifying the correct lubricants, quantities, maintenance frequencies, maintenance execution practices, filtration improvements, material and lubricant standardisation.
  • Ensuring the site-based Maintenance groups act on recommendations to reduce downtime and prevent premature failures, to increase equipment availability and reliability; and
  • Supporting development and implementation of the reliability and continuous improvement framework.
  • Assist Senior Reliability Engineer with management of failing assets and continuous improvements to improve the mean time between failure and overall lubrication cleanliness.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience with Lubrication Engineering including Lubrication Analysis MLA 1 or LCAT 2
  • Bearing Failure Analysis  
  • Ideally, well-developed interpersonal skills and proven ability to connect, work with and influence key stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • FMECA, RCA, RCM, LCC and Lean Six sigma (desirable)
  • Knowledge of EAM, CMMS software including SAP
  • VCAT 2 or higher (desirable)
  • Previous experience in Condition Monitoring or Fixed Plant Engineering role (desirable).
