Work Location: Fortescue’s Eliwana mine is located on the traditional lands of the Puutu Kunti Kurrama people

The Infrastructure service's team at Eliwana ensures that mining can operate New Electric Excavators, work below the water table and to ensure the site water and power demand has an uninterrupted supply.

 

Reporting to the Mechanical and Operational Supervisor, this position offers a key role for Fortescue’s Eliwana Cable management Services and dewatering team focusing on managing cable moves for electric mining assets and supporting dewatering system and assets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working in a team environment in our cable management team with cable moves for Mining Electric machines
  • Operation of cable movement equipment such as 988 Loader with cable reeler attachment and the Cable Tractor.
  • Liaising with HV Electrical team, Field Builders and Mine Planners.
  • Ensuring safety controls of equipment and tasks are implemented and effective.
  • Routine servicing, maintenance, and breakdown repairs on the Entire Eliwana water system including pipe work, valves, tanks and Bermad control valves.
  • Prioritise and attend breakdowns to ensure minimal downtime
  • Removal and installation of Multistage Bore Pumps, Centrifugal Pumps, fire pumps and Isolation and controls valves
  • Refuelling of generators and pumps
  • Operating Wheel loader and Excavator (PC290)

Qualifications and Experience

  • Operator experience- Loaders, IT’s, Excavators.
  • Water Services background in Poly welding- system building and repair.
  • Self-motivated and ability to work in a strong team environment as well as individually.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrate strong safety values.
  • Experience with Fortescue’s computer-based systems (BMS, SAP)
  • Poly welding, Excavator, Loader and chainsaw tickets.
  • HR drivers’ license, forklift essential.
  • Rigging or dogging tickets preferable.
  • Previous Cable handling team experience valued.
