Our Opportunity

 

Work Location:  Hedland.  Fortescue’s Hedland Operations are located on the traditional lands of the Kariyarra people.

 

Roster:  FIFO 4D3R/4D3R/8D6R roster ex Perth

 

This is a unique dual-focus role that blends injury prevention and occupational health support. The Injury Prevention Specialist leads early intervention and injury management programs and also supports the occupational hygiene function alongside the Health & Hygiene Specialist. This shared model ensures seamless coverage across health, hygiene, and injury management functions.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Supports delivery of the Health and Hygiene Management Plan for Integrated Operations.
  • Works in a shared model with the Health & Hygiene Specialist to ensure coverage across health, hygiene, and injury prevention functions.
  • Deliver injury prevention programs and manual handling education across site departments
  • Provide onsite physiotherapy assessment, treatment, and injury management planning
  • Coordinate return-to-work programs and manage workers’ compensation claims in line with WA legislation
  • Maintain accurate injury data and prepare reports for leadership and regulatory bodies

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Bachelor of Physiotherapy and current unrestricted AHPRA registration
  • Minimum 3 years’ clinical physiotherapy experience, preferably in mining or resources
  • Proven experience in injury prevention, return-to-work coordination, and claims management
  • Strong knowledge of WA workers’ compensation legislation and rehabilitation practices
  • Skilled in workplace ergonomic assessments and delivering health & wellness initiatives
  • Valid driver’s licence, current NPC, professional insurances; AOD testing qualification desirable
  • Hygiene experience is highly regarded, or a demonstrated willingness to develop in this space
