Work Location: Perth – Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk Noongar people. Ad hoc domestic and/or international travel may be required.
Roster: Monday to Friday
12-Month fixed term contract or secondment
The Purpose of this role is to embed Delivery Excellence across the Decarb Green Systems Program. The program comprises a combination of new and existing IT/OT systems (approximately 20+ critical planning, control and enabling systems) required to support Fortescue operations in a future decarbonised state.
As part of this scope, the role will be expected to drive mature project baselines (scope, cost and schedule); stand up on-going program governance; and foster strong relationships with the technical and business teams accountable for delivery.
This role must also take ownership of a sub-set of the Portfolio – all critical path “Green” enhancements to existing business systems, inclusive of integration with new Decarb planning and control systems. Where projects are undefined in this area, the role must work closely with supporting team members to facilitate scoping, design workshops and baseline plans, while influencing alignment and integration across key business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Baselining and maintaining the Decarb Systems Delivery roadmap
- Developing and management of project baseline documentation to enable effective management of; Scope, budget, schedule and risk - inclusive of program status reports for senior stakeholders and leveraging engagements to remove blockers for delivery teams
- Liaising with operational leaders to ensure effective integration between green system project scopes and green enhancements to operational systems
- Scoping requirements and developing baseline plans for Green Enhancements that are undefined
- Working with Fortescue IT to ensure project teams are aligned to organisational direction and governance.
Qualifications and Experience
- Deep knowledge of project delivery methodologies and best practice - incl Waterfall and Agile
- Technology / IT background a bonus but not mandatory
- Decarbonisation subject matter expertise a bonus but not mandatory
- Program / project management and delivery of business value
- End to end experience from opportunity conception through to support transition
- Delivering stakeholder workshops, scoping and future state design
- Complex problem solving cross-business area
- Strategic leadership and influence – e.g. ability to drive a long-term vision, cultivate buy-in and translate into discrete deliverables
- Strong problem-solving facilitation and continuous improvement mindset
- Ability to foster environments that enable others to bring their best
- Excellence in business partnership, stakeholder management and communication
- Comfortable with ambiguity and be able to work autonomously / proactively in a fast-paced environment with continuous change.
