Lead Process Engineer
Our Opportunity
Work Location: Perth. Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk Noongar people.
Roster: Monday to Friday
Opportunity for a Lead Process Engineer to join the Technical Services Process Engineering team. The role is responsible for providing technical support for the pilot plant operation and analysing the performance and results to drive the program and study.
The role is based in Perth with regular site travel required to remain engaged with site operations teams and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Selecting suitable pit or stockpile feed for the pilot plant through collaboration with geology and mining teams.
- Assist in pilot plant operations for technical queries and covering site team leave.
- Manage testwork programs at external labs and develop QAQC processes on the results.
- Analyse production data and testwork results quickly to make informed decisions and monitor outputs.
- Provide technical direction and changes on the processing strategy to site pilot operations to ensure the program delivers the required information and outcomes.
- Document and present findings to a high standard to support decisions.
Qualifications and Experience
- Tertiary qualifications in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering or similar discipline.
- Extensive, demonstratable mineral processing industry experience.
- Process engineering experience on crushing, screening and wet physical beneficiation process plants.
- Experience in Dense Medium Separation processes are highly desirable.
- Experience in pilot plant or small-scale operations.
- Strong communication and MS Office skills are required.
