Our Opportunity
Location: Chichester Hub, Fortescue’s Chichester hub is located on the traditional lands of the Palyku and Nyiyaparli peoples.
Roster: 8/6 – FIFO ex Perth
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Execution Lead – to oversee the execution phase of brownfields projects at our Chichester operations. The role is responsible for managing a team to ensure the project execution phase of the project delivery is executed safe, as per approved methodology, schedule and compliant to Fortescue Standards of complex and critical site base projects predominantly at the OPF. Projects may include mechanical / asset replacements, upgrades / optimisation, automation, structural remediation and electrical equipment renewals.
Reporting to the Superintendent Maintenance Projects, the successful candidate will lead onsite execution team consisting of Project Area Leads, HSE Advisors, working closely with stakeholders across Maintenance, Operations, Engineering and Safety teams to ensure full alignment of risk frameworks and Fortescue’s safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of Project Area Leads, HSE Advisors and supervise project execution, ensuring compliance with Mine Safety Act, Australian Standards, and Fortescue procedures
- Manage contractor teams including mobilisation standards, performance oversight, and compliance with safety systems (CRAW, TBRA, SWMS)
- Coordinate stakeholder engagement for shutdown readiness, planning meetings, and execution walkdowns
- Monitor daily progress, validate contractor timesheets, manning, and escalate delays or variations
- Support technical query resolution and interface with Engineering to ensure constructability and quality compliance
- Ensure execution readiness and QA/QC closeout including punch list validation, documentation and multi-discipline walkdowns
- Promote a strong safety culture and lead risk assessments and incident management responses during execution phase
Qualifications and Experience
- Supervisory experience in brownfields environments within mining or heavy industry
- Proven contractor management experience including mobilisation, safety oversight and performance management
- WA Unrestricted Electrical Licence, Schedule 26 qualification and Certificate III in Electrotechnology (if electrical trade-qualified)
- Strong understanding of Mine Safety Inspection Regulations, Australian Electrical Standards, and shutdown practices
- Proficient in SAP, SharePoint, MS Project, and Fortescue systems (ACE, ROAM, BMS, Quantum)
- High-level interpersonal, leadership and problem-solving skills with ability to drive accountability and collaboration across teams
- Valid C Class driver's licence (minimum); Forklift ticket desirable
