Learning Solution Designer
Our Opportunity
Work Location: Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.
Roster: Monday to Friday
We are seeking an innovative Learning Solution Designer to join our Learning & Development team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing engaging digital and in-person learning experiences that empower our people and support business capability growth.
You’ll combine your instructional design expertise with strong technical writing, facilitation design, and e-learning development skills to create modern, scalable, and technology-enabled learning solutions.
This role is offered as a hybrid position, with time split between remote work, our city-based office, and occasional site travel to collaborate with stakeholders and the wider Learning & Development team.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop innovative learning solutions that align with organisational strategy and capability needs.
- Create interactive e-learning modules, videos, job aids, and digital learning assets using authoring tools such as Articulate 360, Vyond, Creative Cloud or equivalent.
- Develop in-person training and facilitation materials, including session plans, facilitator guides, participant workbooks, and supporting resources.
- Design and implement assessments and evaluation tools to measure learning outcomes and effectiveness.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to transform complex technical content into clear, learner-friendly materials.
- Ensure learning content is integrated effectively within SuccessFactors (Learning Management System) and other learning platforms.
- Apply learning design principles to develop blended learning experiences — including virtual, self-paced, and in-person delivery methods.
- Partner with technology and design teams to enhance the user experience through effective use of technology, multimedia, and design thinking.
- Maintain consistency in technical writing standards, visual design, and instructional approach across learning products.
- Evaluate learning effectiveness using analytics and feedback, and continuously improve content based on results and learner insights.
Qualifications and Experience
- Proven experience in Learning Design / Instructional Design within corporate or technical environments.
- Expertise in e-learning and blended learning design, including in-person facilitation material development.
- Experience designing facilitator guides, session plans, assessments, and classroom materials.
- Strong skills in e-learning authoring tools (e.g. Articulate Rise, Storyline, Camtasia).
- Understanding of SuccessFactors Learning or similar LMS platforms.
- Strong technical writing, content structuring, and documentation skills.
- Knowledge of adult learning principles, user experience design, and accessibility standards.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment involving remote, office, and site-based collaboration.
- Background in mining, resources, or heavy industry is highly regarded.
