Our Opportunity

 

Work Location:  Hedland, Western Australia.  Fortescue’s Hedland Operations are located on the traditional lands of the Kariyarra people.

 

Roster: 4/3, 4/3, 8/6 - FIFO ex Perth, Busselton, Broome, Karratha, Port Hedland, Fitzroy Crossing and Kununurra

 

The primary role of the Rail Infrastructure Long-Term Planner is to support the department in developing and maintaining cohesive schedules that ensure safe and efficient rail operations. Responsibilities include creating and managing maintenance strategies, issuing regular reports aligned with business objectives, focusing on system improvements, risk & compliance management, and lifecycle planning.

 

This role provides essential support to the Rail Infrastructure team by delivering a comprehensive Long-Term Planning service

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Manage shutdown schedules, work orders, IP Calendar and Gantt charts.
  • Collaborate with planning teams and ensure SAP compliance to business standards, along with SAP data review and cleansing
  • Develop and update maintenance strategies, including procurement and spares forecasting.
  • Manage 2-5 year maintenance plans and support reliability improvements.
  • Assist with OPEX/CAPEX budgeting, capital projects, and work order management.
  • Provide training on MS Office, SAP, and technical skills for execution teams and workgroup.

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Mechanical/Electrical Trade or an appropriate Tertiary qualification
  • Demonstrated record of safety leadership in operational environments
  • Demonstrated operational experience (i.e. maintenance and/or project roles)
  • Previous Asset Management and Reliability experience preferred
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations – i.e. Mine Safety and Inspection, OHS etc
  • Advanced SAP experience
