Our Opportunity

Work Location: Solomon - Fortescue’s Solomon mine is located on the traditional lands of the Eastern Guruma and Yindjibarndi peoples.

 

Roster: 8D6R or 4D/R FIFO ex Perth or Busselton

 

Our Solomon Statutory Risk and Compliance team is seeking a qualified Registrable Plant Inspector to carry out planned inspections and testing on plant and mobile equipment. You should have experience in a similar role within the mining industry.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Perform Detailed Inspections, Testing and Audits on both mobile and fixed plant
  • Produce high-quality detailed reports related to Inspections, Testing and Audits
  • Use specialist inspection and test equipment in the performance of inspections, NDT and auditing
  • Use knowledge and skills, from qualifications and experience, to assess compliance of Plant and Machinery in accordance with relevant WA legislation and Standards
  • Provide technical support and advice related to compliance matters
  • Creating notifications/work orders in SAP
  • Tracking and maintaining of defects register
  • Ensure all activities undertaken are carried out in accordance with company safety policy and procedures

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • AICIP/API Pressure equipment inspection qualifications
  • A thorough understanding and knowledge of all applicable Australian Standards, Work Health Safety Act 2020, Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022, Work Health and Safety (General) Regulations 2022
  • Experience in the Mining Industry carrying out Inspections
  • Lifting Equipment qualifications and experience with cranes
  • An effective communicator, both in written and verbal communications
  • High attention to detail and strong report writing skills
  • An effective time manager and committed to achieving deadlines
  • Adaptable with working hours
  • Must have unrestricted right to work in Australia
  • Hold a current driving licence

 

Desirable: 

 

  • AINDT/ PCN/ ISO 9712 NDT qualifications
  • Engineering background would be desirable
