Management Accountant / Finance Business Partner
Our Opportunity
Work Location: Fortescue’s Perth office - located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people
Roster: Monday to Friday, with flexible work arrangements available
** We are recruiting for TWO positions - ONE is a full time permanent role and ONE is a 12 month Fixed Term Contract **
Reporting directly to the Finance Business Partnering Manager of Fortescue’s Capital Projects portfolio, this role will be primarily focussed on day-to-day project accounting, budgeting and forecasting, as well as working closely with the Controls’ team & other project stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivery accurate and timely completion of month end close activities for various projects across multiple departments.
- Assist in the delivery of quarterly forecast and annual budget for the Fortescue capital projects portfolio, including oversight of project cash forecasting.
- Provide finance support to project managers, cost control and business leads, including insightful driver-based analysis.
- Continually identify and deliver finance process and system improvement initiatives working in close collaboration with the wider finance team.
- Providing comprehensive analysis and driver-based cost variance analysis to support business decisions
- Ensure the accuracy of accounting in accordance with Group Accounting Policies.
- Actively promote a safe working environment.
Qualifications and Experience
- Demonstrated experience in Management Accounting roles.
- Finance or Commercial degree as well as CPA or CA qualifications (or working towards)
- Collaborative team player, proactive problem solver and passion towards learning new systems or financial tools
- Strong analytical, written and interpersonal communication skills
- High degree of attention to detail and commitment to meeting deadlines
- Advanced skills in Microsoft tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- SAP experience is preferred. Experience with Power BI and/or Anaplan will be well regarded.
- Ability to work on multiple priorities within tight deadlines with a high degree of autonomy and flexibility
