Fortescue is seeking a Manager – AI-Driven Maintenance Excellence to help drive measurable improvements in maintenance execution, with a strong initial focus on reliability maintenance planning and maintenance master data quality.
The primary purpose of this role is to improve asset management outcomes by defining and delivering AI systems and tools to strengthen reliability engineering, maintenance planning, maintenance strategies and master data management.
This role will work closely with site maintenance, planning, and reliability teams to embed these systems and tools, to drive their adoption and to measure their effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with maintenance and reliability leaders to identify pain points and translate them into AI-enabled solutions and systems, including improvements in:
- Preventive maintenance effectiveness
- Asset criticality and failure mode clarity
- Planning accuracy and schedule compliance
- Master data management
- Lead the program of work that includes in-house development and sourcing of AI-enabled solutions that enhance decision-making in maintenance planning and execution.
- Lead change management and adoption activities, designing and managing changes to ways of working to deliver sustainable outcomes.
- Track outcomes through clear execution-focused KPIs (e.g. availability, reliability, schedule compliance).
- Collaborate with engineering and systems teams to accelerate implementation and ensure these solutions are managed effectively across the product development lifecycle.
- Contribute to the development of internal capability at the intersection of asset management and AI.
Qualifications and Experience
- Demonstrated senior-level experience in maintenance, reliability, or asset management within asset-intensive industries is essential.
- Exposure to AI, advanced analytics, or decision-support tools is essential.
- Familiarity with modern product delivery or continuous improvement practices.
- Worked in owner-operator background preferred (mining, oil & gas, or heavy industry) is essential
- Strong experience reliability maintenance planning and maintenance execution.
- Hands-on experience with SAP PM / EAM and maintenance master data is essential
- Proven ability to translate maintenance problems into process redesign
- Experience leading cross-functional teams across operations, engineering and digital.
- Demonstrated transformation delivery with tangible execution outcomes
- Strong change leadership capability, with evidence of driving adoption in operational environments.
