Our Opportunity

 

Work Location:  Hedland Operations, Anderson Point offices. Fortescue’s Hedland Operations are located on the traditional lands of the Kariyarra people. 

 

Roster:  8D/6R FIFO ex. Perth or Residential - Hedland

 

Reporting to the Mechanical Projects Coordinator, this role will be responsible for the successful planning and execution of mechanical projects at Fortescue’s Anderson Point Port Facility. We are looking for a candidate with extensive project management and mechanical industry experience. 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Working alongside Maintenance and Engineering Reliability departments to ensure full understanding and requirements of project scopes
  • Building initial scope of work, project schedules, cost estimates and project timelines
  • Overseeing Early Engineering requirements
  • Engaging stake holders and chairing regular update meetings
  • Adhering to Fortescue’s project framework, work management and shutdown procedures
  • Raising notifications in SAP
  • Tendering / Engaging vendors
  • Sourcing, ordering and tracking long lead items
  • Attending contractor, planning and shutdown execution meetings
  • Managing project execution both online and offline. This will include altering roster during execution periods
  • Tracking and reforecasting project budgets with cost controllers 
  • Updating master data, inspection checklists, redlines and other associated documents
  • Identifying improvement projects
  • Managing Work Order Backlog
  • Closing out projects once completed

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Minimum 2-5 years’ experience in Mining/Heavy Industrial environment
  • Minimum 2-5 years’ experience in Project Management
  • Mechanical Trade Certificate or Bachelor of Mechanical engineering
  • Competency in SAP (preferred)
  • Microsoft Office Suite - Excel, Project, Word, Power Point (Essential)
  • Good leadership skills with ability to positively influence people to achieve their targets
  • Conduct Field Interactions on work groups to promote safe work practices
  • Support teams with MS Office applications, SAP and general computer training
  • High level written and verbal communication skills
