Our Opportunity

 

Work Location: Eliwana - Fortescue’s Eliwana mine is located on the traditional lands of the Puutu Kunti Kurrama & Pinikura (PKKP) People.

 

Roster: 4D/3R - FIFO ex Perth

 

Fortescue is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to support the Eliwana OPF, with a focus on stockyard assets. The role will be required to complete plant down time data analysis, improvement projects, safety projects and defect elimination, to enable sustained asset performance within the sites cost objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be the sites registered custodian for the stacker-reclaimer balanced machine
  • Ensure site adheres to the machine risk management plan (MRMP)
  • Engage with Operations and Maintenance personnel as a key team member facilitating safety and production improvement projects in the stockyard
  • Overseeing stakeholder and change management
  • Monitoring quality assurance of critical processes such as maintenance strategy compliance
  • Compile data to ensure delays and down time are captured correctly within the time usage model
  • Performing Root Cause Analysis for equipment failure and implementing learnings to reduce future downtime
  • Assisting with shutdown support and providing QA/QC signoffs for key works

Qualifications and Experience

  • Mechanical Engineering Degree with a minimum of 4 to 5 years’ experience, preferably with balanced machine assets and train load outs
  • Working knowledge of processing equipment
  • Experience within operational teams on site is essential
  • Experience in conducting root cause analysis
  • A high level of planning and problem-solving ability
  • Demonstrated competency in use of SAP
  • Strong engagement and communication skills
  • Project management experience preferred
