Our Opportunity

 

Location: Christmas Creek - Fortescue’s Christmas Creek mine is located on the traditional lands of the Nyiyaparli peoples.

 

Roster: 7D/7N/14R or 7D/7N/7R FIFO ex Perth, Busselton, Port Hedland, Broome, Karratha (Select your roster preference during application)

 

Fortescue are seeking experienced Mine Development Operators to join our team at Christmas Creek. Reporting to the Supervisor Mine Development, you will be trained and responsible for operating heavy mining equipment to ensure haul and access roads remain safe, operational, and accessible. Additional duties may include various earthmoving activities and manual labour as required.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Operate and maintain mobile plant equipment including Watercarts, Grader 16M & 24M, Loader CAT 980 & 988, and Moxy.
  • Conduct road maintenance, earthworks, and other related tasks to support mining infrastructure.
  • Perform manual labour when necessary to ensure site safety and operational efficiency.
  • Work collaboratively within a small team, demonstrating strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Apply problem-solving capabilities to address on-site challenges effectively.

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Current Australian Manual Driver’s Licence.
  • HR Licence.
  • Demonstrated experience operating mobile plant equipment as listed.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cohesive team.
  • Strong safety awareness and commitment to following Fortescue safety protocols.
