Work Location: Chicester Hub, Western Australia. Fortescue’s Cloudbreak mine is located on the traditional lands of the Palyku and Nyiyaparli peoples.
Roster: 8D/6R ex Perth

As a Mine Systems Supervisor, you’ll take a leadership role in ensuring the availability and performance of mine communication systems that keep autonomous operations running safely and efficiently.
This is a dynamic opportunity for someone who combines strong technical knowledge with hands-on leadership. You’ll guide a team supporting critical mine communication networks, provide technical input for planning and maintenance, and ensure operational technology systems are delivering at their maximum potential. Every day, you’ll play a crucial part in enabling safe, productive mining operations.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and support a team responsible for mine communication infrastructure, including Tetra radio, FMS wireless networks, and related OT systems

Provide system planning, troubleshooting, and repair to maximise uptime of critical communications hardware

Oversee day-to-day technology services, aligned with mine production plans and performance targets

Monitor and improve wireless communication system performance across active mining areas

Diagnose equipment failures, recommend improvements, and ensure efficient maintenance practices

Manage shift handovers, pre-start meetings, and reporting to ensure continuity and compliance

Liaise with site and remote operators (HIVE) to resolve issues and maintain system reliability

Promote and enforce safe systems of work, ensuring compliance with HSE standards
Qualifications and Experience

Minimum 3 years’ leadership experience in mining or industrial operations technology

Strong background in wireless communications infrastructure (Cisco Mesh, microwave, fibre optics)

Experience working with radio systems, fleet management systems, and RF communications; LTE knowledge an advantage

Cert IV in Communications, Electrical Trade, or equivalent (STEM degree desirable)

Manual C Class driver’s licence (essential); Working at Heights/EWP certification (desirable)

Hands-on ability to diagnose, repair, and maintain OT hardware and communications infrastructure

Familiarity with Minestar FMS and Tetra Digital Radio systems highly regarded

Proven ability to coach, mentor, and develop team members in a high-performance environment
