Fortescue is seeking a Mining Operator to join the Resource Definition Earthworks Crew. This role is responsible for undertaking earthworks to support drilling programs and rehabilitation activities across the Christmas Creek operation. We welcome applications from operators at all experience levels — entry-level, experienced, or advanced.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct earthworks to support drilling programs, including the construction of drill lines, pads, and sumps.
  • Undertake rehabilitation earthworks on previously completed drill lines, pads, and sumps.
  • Ensure understanding and compliance with relevant documentation such as Land Use Conditions (LUCs), Safe Work Instructions (SWIs), and Scopes of Work (SOWs).
  • Adhere to all Fortescue and Resource Definition procedures, SWIs, LUCs, and Heritage conditions.
  • Participate in reviews and updates of work documentation, including SWIs and procedures.
  • Contribute to and promote a safe, inclusive, and positive team environment.
  • Complete machine pre-start inspections accurately and record findings using relevant documentation.
  • Report and document all identified equipment faults in a timely manner.
  • Operate safely and efficiently using GPS systems such as Trimble or Guidex (preferred but not essential).

Qualifications and Experience

  • Demonstrated commitment to living and promoting the Fortescue Values.
  • Enthusiastic, proactive, and self-motivated individual who works well in a team environment.
  • Experience operating front end loaders or other earthworks machinery (desirable).
  • Previous mining or civil earthworks experience (advantageous but not essential).
  • Understanding of mine site safety systems, procedures, and documentation (preferred).
  • Willingness to learn and actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
