Our Opportunity

 

Location: Fortescue Centre - Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.

 

Roster: Monday - Friday. Travel to regional areas and sites as required.

 

The Offsite Repair team manage over 200 different repair vendors and oversee $150M in repairs annually. Reporting to the Material Readiness Superintendent, the Offsite Repair Inspector will work with all relevant stakeholders to constantly understand and monitor the repair cycle in getting quality repairs back to site covering all parts of the business. 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Frequent inspection of equipment repairs at Perth metro - based vendor sites to inspect Fortescue equipment
  • Cost benefit analysis of buying new versus repair pricing
  • Review and evaluate scope of vendor repair work to meet Fortescue equipment repair standards and cost-effectiveness
  • Ensure QA/QC is maintained at each stage and approve completed refurbishments
  • Analysis of cycle times through all parts of the repair process
  • Source alternate repair vendors as required to meet operational deadlines
  • Work closely with purchasing, warehouse, and inventory teams to ensure equipment is on site on time
  • Work with vendors to ensure delivery requirements are met to Fortescue standards

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • WA driver’s license – current
  • Maintenance trade qualified e.g. fitter, fabricator, boilermaker – essential
  • Experience with all aspects of Fixed Plant – essential, Rail & HME experience - desirable
  • Be highly motivated and have the capacity to work as part of a very focused team.
  • Goal driven, self-starter with demonstrated leadership experience
  • Experience using computer-based maintenance systems e.g. SAP
  • Experience MS Office applications
  • Demonstrated ability to be able to work autonomously and with multiple stakeholders
