Reporting to: Chief General Counsel

 

Are you a seasoned Patent Attorney looking for an opportunity to shape intellectual property strategy within a cutting-edge environment? We are seeking a highly skilled professional to join our team, providing expert legal advice on patents, innovation protection, and risk mitigation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct freedom to operate assessments and provide strategic legal advice.
  • Evaluate invention disclosures and advise on optimal IP protection strategies.
  • Collaborate with inventors and external counsel to draft, file, and prosecute patent applications.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physical or inorganic chemistry or physics.
  • Current practicing license or registration as a Patent Attorney in Australia or overseas.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of intellectual property laws in Australia and overseas as well as the Patent Cooperation Treaty System.
  • Strong risk analysis skills for evaluating inventions and devising IP strategies to mitigate risk.
  • Demonstrable work experience as a registered patent attorney.
  • Extensive experience in providing freedom to operate and patentability advice.
  • Fluent in one or more foreign languages is desirable.
