Work Location: Perth – Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk Noongar people.

 

Roster: Monday to Friday

 

We are looking for an experienced Senior Payroll Analyst to join our busy Payroll team. This role is a permanent role, working closely with the Payroll Superintendent and is crucial in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while maintaining compliance with Australian payroll legislation and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing for a high-volume, multi-site workforce.

  • Ensure compliance with all statutory obligations, including payroll tax, superannuation and regulatory reporting across multiple states.

  • Prepare and reconcile payroll-related accounting entries, including GL journals, leave provisions and payroll tax reconciliations.

  • Process monthly and ad hoc pay runs, including exceptional payments, back pay, terminations and redundancies.

  • Resolve payroll queries, investigate discrepancies and provide accurate guidance to employees and stakeholders.

  • Support payroll compliance, audits and internal policy requirements, acting as a subject matter expert.

  • Produce payroll reports for management and external stakeholders.

  • Drive continuous improvement in payroll processes, systems and compliance practices.

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • 5+years of Payroll Experience
  • Extensive experience in complex payroll operations within large organisations.
  • Proficiency with SAP payroll module and SuccessFactors.
  • Strong MS Office skills, including Excel, Word & Outlook.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, the Fair Work Act, superannuation, employee leave entitlement and tax obligations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
