Our Opportunity

 

Location: Fortescue’s Solomon mine is located on the traditional lands of the Eastern Guruma and Yindjibarndi peoples.

 

Roster: 4D3R

 

Reporting directly to the Superintendent Fortescue People, the Fortescue People Officer plays a pivotal role in supporting the Fortescue People team. This position is integral to shaping site culture, enhancing employee engagement, and providing comprehensive HR support across a variety of operational functions.

 

The role involves managing employee queries, assisting with policy interpretation and providing guidance on key HR processes to ensure the smooth running of HR activities at the site.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Inbox Management:
    • Provide policy guidance and assist employees in navigating the Hub to locate relevant forms and policies.
    • Collaborate with leaders, mobilisation team payroll and various stakeholders as required.
    • Educate site leaders on interpreting and applying HR policies, including various types of leave.
    • Manage and address education assistance applications and queries, respond to novated leasing and Concur enquiries, coordinate bulk COC requests, address Success Factors queries and resolve remuneration-related requests.

 

  • COC Support:
    • Assist leaders in raising the correct COCs, ensuring compliance with internal procedures and collaborate with the People Systems team to ensure appropriate delegation of COC approvals.

 

  • Low-Level Case Management:
    • Monitor and follow up on flight no-shows; organise enquiry meetings and prepare templates as needed for case management.
    • Enter all relevant cases into the Anaplan system to ensure proper tracking and documentation.
    • Guide and advise leaders; support People team members in managing workload distribution and maintaining high levels of service delivery.
    • Draft and issue formal communications such as Reports of Concern (ROC), Written Warnings (WW), and Final Written Warnings (FWW).

 

  • Job Requisitions:
    • Ensure that all job requisitions are correctly banded according to the organisational structure and compensation framework; collaborate with the Remuneration & Benefits team.

 

  • Ad-Hoc Requests & Project Work.

 

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Minimum 12 months experience in a HR or Recruitment administration or systems capacity.
  • Tertiary qualification in relevant field preferred.
  • Strong technical aptitude with data analytics, including advanced excel capability.
  • Knowledge and experience of HR systems with experience in Success Factors and SAP (preferable).
  • Demonstrated experience working effectively within diverse work environments.
  • Ability to build strong relationships.
  • Demonstrated collaborative approach.
