Work Location: Solomon - Fortescue’s Solomon mine is located on the traditional lands of the Eastern Guruma and Yindjibarndi peoples.

 

Roster:  8D/6R, 7N/7R – FIFO ex Perth

 

We are seeking a Permit Officer preferably with an Electrical Trade to manage isolation, tagging, and permit requirements for our process plant, both in routine operations and during shutdowns. This position is critical to ensuring the safety of personnel and equipment in and around the plant. 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Conduct daily inspections of work areas to ensure proper and functional isolations.
  • Develop and issue permits and isolations for breakdowns and shutdowns.
  • Audit permits and isolations to ensure compliance.
  • Maintain and update the permit to work database.
  • Assist in preparing, planning, and implementing all permitting and isolation plans prior to the commencement of work.

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Mining experience in a FIFO role.
  • Current WA full driver's license.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Computer literacy to work with various systems (training provided).
  • Demonstrated stakeholder management and engagement skills.
  • Current WA electrical license (preferred). 
  • Experience with high voltage systems and electrical isolations (preferred). 
  • Experience in permitting and isolations (preferred).
