Our Opportunity

Work Location: Iron Bridge - Fortescue’s Iron Bridge project is located on the traditional lands of the Nyamal People.

 

Roster: 8D6R FIFO ex Perth

 

We’re looking for a skilled and driven Plant Metallurgist to join our team at Iron Bridge.

Play a vital role in optimising plant performance by leading process improvements, guiding operations, and driving innovative solutions to enhance safety, efficiency, and recovery. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and implement process improvement opportunities to enhance plant performance
  • Provide technical support and insights to the Operations team through data-driven analysis
  • Lead and manage plant trials, test work programs, and performance evaluations
  • Review and develop flowsheets, mass balances, and design documentation
  • Oversee metallurgical accounting, consumables, and reporting
  • Support commissioning and ramp-up activities across the facility
  • Assist with incident investigations and the development of corrective actions

Qualifications and Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering or related field
  • Strong understanding of dry and wet mineral processing operations
  • Proficient in metallurgical accounting, including mass and water balancing
  • Experienced in statistical analysis and metallurgical testing methods
  • Advanced computer skills (process data historian, SAP, Tableau)
  • A natural problem solver with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement
