Our Opportunity
Work Location: Iron Bridge - Fortescue’s Iron Bridge mine is located on the traditional lands of the Nyamal peoples.
Roster: 7D7R - FIFO from Perth
This role reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor and will be responsible for maintaining assets across the entire mine site operation and camp facilities including but not limited to: accommodation buildings, offices, workshops, laboratory and the waste and potable water treatment plants.
This position is responsible to deliver safe, high-quality, and compliant repair work, maintenance and inspections on plumbing, gas systems and reverse osmosis systems as required by the Maintenance Services team.
Key Responsibilities
- High safety focus and risk perception at all times
- Carry out planned and breakdown repairs around the mine and village
- Use of SAP to create notifications, close out work orders & time confirmations
- Actively participate in toolbox and safety meetings
- Comply with company procedures, policies, and lifesaving choices at all times
- Conduct thorough risk assessments prior to undertaking tasks
- Report all hazards and incidents within the workplace
Qualifications and Experience
- Relevant experience in mining or heavy industry
- Demonstrated ability to identify, trouble shoot and repair plant (plumbing systems)
- Knowledge of applicable legislations, Australian Standards
- Current West Australian Plumbing Trade Certification
- G class gas fitting license
- WA Class C Driver’s Licence
- Plumbing contractor's license (desirable)
- Effective communication & interpersonal skills; including report writing
- Ability to time manage, organise & prioritise workload
- Sound problem solving skills
- Experience using Microsoft Office and SAP operating system
