Work Location: Multiple locations available: Christmas Creek and Cloudbreak
Fortescue’s Christmas Creek mine is located on the traditional lands of the Nyiyaparli people.
Fortescue’s Cloudbreak mine is located on the traditional lands of the Palyku and Nyiyaparli peoples.

At Fortescue we are in the process of transforming our energy assets to achieve our climate change targets of zero emissions by 2030. Reporting to the Energy Operations Eastern Region Supervisor you will join a technically disciplined team and demonstrate an ability to deliver against a wider variety of Electrical activities which is essential to our teams success.
The Energy Operations Eastern Region portfolio comprises of 11kV - 33kV distribution networks for Christmas Creek and Cloudbreak mine sites, Therman Power Stations & the emergency diesel power stations for site villages. New incoming assets include 220kV Transmission network from Lambda to Christmas Creek to connect the Fortescue Network, as well as a 190MW Solar Farm & Battery Storage Systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all maintenance activities are resourced appropriately and executed in accordance with the maintenance strategy
- Carry out planned and routine maintenance activities on a broad range of electrical equipment for the transmission, distribution and generation assets
- Diagnosing and fault finding on all equipment within the Energy Operations battery limits.
- Commitment to high quality safety and continuous improvement practices
- Use of SAP to ensure that maintenance tasks are recorded, assigned correctly and completed to the relevant standard / specification.
Qualifications and Experience
- Electrical trade qualification
- High Voltage Switching certificate with relevant network switching experience
- Current High Risk work licence – WP, LF
- HR Drivers licence - Desirable
- Working at heights trained
- PLC, ComAp control system operation - Desirable
- Experience with all aspects of HV power distribution and transmission systems
- Experience in large scale transmission networks and operation of Siemens GIS switchgear would be an advantage.
- Career development as a step-up Electrical Supervisor - Desirable
