Our Opportunity
Work location: Cloudbreak
- Fortescue’s Cloudbreak mine is located on the traditional lands of the Palyku and Nyiyaparli peoples.
Roster: 4 days on and 3 days off ex Perth
Reporting to the General Manager Cloudbreak, this role will support operations in the identification, analysis and implementation of business improvement opportunities across the Chichester Operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Spearheading Improved Projects: Oversee and ensure the successful execution of improvement projects, fostering a culture of continual growth and advancement.
- Data Analytics & Root Cause Analysis: Utilise data-driven insights and root cause analysis to identify underlying issues and institute effective solutions
- Formulating Business Cases & Project Charters: Create robust business cases and project charters to streamlining the process of project and solution deployment
- Nurturing Stakeholder Engagement: Foster strong stakeholder relationships to comprehend existing processes, end-user requirements, and ensure effective change management
- Identifying Operational Opportunities: Identify opportunities for cost reduction, heightened production efficiency, safety enhancement, and a positive cultural impact
- Conducting Facilitative Workshops: Organise and lead workshops to incorporate diverse viewpoints and options for a comprehensive decision-making process
- Effective Communication to Management: Present findings and progress updates to the management team in a coherent and succinct manner, ensuring a thorough understanding of key developments
- Supporting Operational Business Plan: Collaborate in the development of an operational business plan and foster an ongoing improvement project pipeline
Qualifications and Experience
- Postgraduate qualification in a business or engineering-related discipline, showcasing a deep understanding of the industry’s intricacies
- Over 5 years of hands-on experience in a similar operational role within the Mining or Manufacturing sector, highlighting a proven track record of excellence
- Preferably certified in Six Sigma (Black/Green Belt) or possessing significant experience with Lean Methodology, showcasing a commitment to operational efficient and excellence
- Extensive experience working within both Operations and Maintenance, highlighting a comprehensive understanding of the interplay between these critical aspects of the industry
- Meticulous attention to detail and proficient problem-solving abilities, coupled with a knack for identifying and resolving complex issues
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and facilitation skills, fostering effective collaboration and seamless teamwork
- Proven ability to work harmoniously with diverse teams and influence others positively, driving a culture of continual improvement and growth
