As a Principal C&P Program Delivery, this pivotal role will provide oversight and accountability for the monitoring and delivery of key improvement projects and initiatives across the Contracts & Procurement (C&P) function.
The position will play a critical role in supporting procurement systems transformation and improvement activities, ensuring projects are executed to a high standard, and enabling the function to deliver on its strategic objectives.
The successful candidate will oversee the Project Management Office (PMO), ensuring robust governance, reporting, and delivery excellence across all key C&P initiatives. Reporting to the Senior Manager Procurement Services, Governance & Continuous Improvement, the ideal candidate will be passionate about new technologies (inc. robotic process automation, AI & Gen AI) and possess a strong desire to drive innovation and efficiency through the implementation of technology solutions.
You will provide thought leadership in industry best practices and systems, review processes with a lean mindset and focus on streamlining and automation.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide oversight and accountability for the delivery of key improvement projects within the Contracts & Procurement function. The initial focus will be supporting delivery of Tail Spend reduction opportunities and implementation of AI use cases across Source to Pay.
- Support the execution of procurement systems transformation initiatives, ensuring design, implementation, and adoption are achieved successfully.
- Oversee the PMO, establishing and maintaining strong governance, reporting structures, and performance frameworks to enable project delivery.
- Develop, manage, and monitor project plans, timelines, budgets, and performance metrics to ensure alignment with organisational objectives.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure initiatives are delivered on time, within scope, and to the required quality standards.
- Identify, assess, and manage risks, issues, and dependencies, ensuring effective mitigation strategies are in place.
- Deliver regular updates and performance reports to senior leadership, providing visibility of progress, risks, and outcomes.
- Support and drive change management activities to embed new systems, processes, and ways of working across the function.
Qualifications and Experience
- Demonstrated experience in project management, PMO leadership, or transformation roles, preferably within procurement, supply chain, or related functions.
- Strong understanding of contracts and procurement systems, processes, and transformation best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully deliver complex, multi-stakeholder projects within large organisations.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, influencing, and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all organisational levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proven ability to provide insights and recommendations to support decision-making.
- Proven track record in risk management, reporting, and governance in a project or program context.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in business, procurement, project management, or related disciplines (required).
- Source-to-Pay subject matter expertise (SAP, Ariba and Ivalua systems experience highly regarded)
- Professional project management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent) highly regarded.
