The services and controls team provides support to project development across all of Fortescue.  The Estimating Team supports the development and assurance of all Capex estimates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the Capital Intensity initiative for Energy and Metals projects.
  • Maintain and update the following workstreams:
    • Cost Blocks
    • Country Factors
    • Learning Curves
    • Capex Library
    • DOME interface
    • WBS structure
  • Conduct monthly meetings with the project teams and Engineering to discuss project Capital Intensity Initiatives.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with the estimating manager and estimating workstreams.
  • Guidance for the Estimators.
  • Ensure that lessons learnt, and common initiatives are provided across the portfolio of projects.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree qualification or equivalent experience in Project Controls, Planning or Estimating in the construction, design, or engineering areas. 
  • Prior experience in a similar lead estimating role, preferably in the resources and or renewable energy sector and within a complex construction and engineering environment. 
  • Minimum 15 + of experience as a practicing estimator at senior and leader level using industry recognised estimating systems.
  • Experience working for a multi-national (client-side) and or Tier 1 Project Consultant. 
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and software development skills.
  • Enjoy working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment collaborating with other like-minded team members and adjacent project teams.
  • A robust capability in adapting and understanding to multidisciplinary requirements such as engineering, system, and data concepts.
  • Strong data management and manipulation skills, with excellent computer literacy skills.
  • Strong team skills.
