Our Opportunity
Work Location: Perth - Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people of the Noongar nation.
Roster: Monday to Friday
The Principal Integrated Planning role is essential in driving analysis and improvement initiatives that support the seamless delivery of throughput across our Integrated Supply Chain, spanning from Mines to Port. This position is designed to unite the efforts of our scheduling, planning, and operational teams while fostering collaboration with key upstream and downstream stakeholders, including shipping and marketing, to identify and unlock value within our supply chain.
While we face significant challenges, there are equally immense opportunities to maximise value across the supply chain. This requires a leader with exceptional skills in engagement, influence, and analysis to help turn these opportunities into tangible results.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide sound leadership that builds a solid team culture and ensures people come to work with a sense of purpose and leave with a sense of achievement each day.
- Effective engagement of key customers and stakeholders to ensure we’re pursuing and prioritising the right opportunities and driving clear accountability in the pursuit of these opportunities.
- Engagement across internal work groups from our Analytics, Modelling, Scheduling teams through to our Shipping, Marketing, Strategic AI, Decarbonisation and Asset Management teams ensuring alignment on priorities and driving accountability.
- Provide sound business case evaluations to support decisions with respect to project funding and prioritisation.
- Influence across a broad range of stakeholders to ensure that stakeholders understand the value of our prioritised improvement pipeline and ensure that there is effective buy in and ongoing support to enable effective delivery and realisation of value.
- Ensure effective project communication plans for all projects, providing the right information to the right stakeholders to ensure stakeholders remain well informed.
- Set and track project/initiative milestones; manage unforeseen delays, realign schedules and expectations as needed.
- Identify and lead improvement initiatives designed to continually improve the effectiveness of how we deliver value to the business.
- Provide Mentorship and coaching to help develop internal technical talent.
Qualifications and Experience
- Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain / Mining or related field (desirable)
- +10 years’ experience in mining or supply chain operations.
- Demonstrated experience in planning, scheduling or business improvement
- +2 Year experience at Superintendent or Principal level.
- Requires a high degree of attention to detail in parallel with the ability to step back and put detail into a holistic context.
- Able to effectively break down and synthesis complexity into pragmatic and simplistic direction.
- Strong communication skills, capable of effectively and succinctly communicating opportunities with clear, substantiated recommendations.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with multiple layers of the organisation with demonstrated ability to influence at all levels
- A core understanding of business processes, data analysis, project management, change management and various business disciplines like finance, marketing, and operations.
- Knowledge of data management systems (desirable).
