Our Opportunity
Location: Fortescue’s Iron Bridge Operation is located on the traditional lands of the Nyamal people.
Roster: 4D3R with flexible options. FIFO ex Perth.
Reporting to the Manager People and Culture, the Principal People and Culture provides strategic and operational HR support across the business - partnering with leaders and team members to deliver expert advice, drive engagement, and implement initiatives that empower a diverse, capable, and high-performing workforce aligned with Fortescue’s mission and values.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with leadership to implement People policies that foster a positive and values-based work environment.
- Collaborate with internal People teams to ensure consistent and high-quality service delivery across the organisation.
- Execute the People and Culture strategy, including key initiatives such as performance and remuneration reviews, workforce planning, and talent management.
- Manage and oversee workplace investigations, providing practical, expert advice on employee relations matters, legislation, and company policies.
- Support leaders in addressing performance, conduct, and conflict resolution matters.
- Analyse employee survey results and partner with stakeholders to develop programs that enhance engagement, wellbeing, and retention.
- Design and deliver leadership development and training initiatives focused on employment practices, cultural awareness, and diversity and inclusion.
Qualifications and Experience
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Employee Relations, Industrial Relations, Employment Law, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a senior HR role partnering with executive and senior leaders.
- Demonstrated ability to lead both strategic and operational HR initiatives.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence outcomes across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Extensive experience managing complex casework, investigations, and disciplinary processes.
- SuccessFactors experience highly regarded.
