Location: Christmas Creek
Roster: 8 days on and 6 days off
Fortescue are presently looking for an experienced Process Engineer that will be involved in the daily monitoring and reporting of the plant, commencing with construction and commissioning, then transitioning through to stable operations.
Discrete plant areas include Beneficiation, Agglomeration, Reduction, Smelting and Product Packaging.
Key Responsibilities
- Safe operation of the Process Plant and ability to write diagnostic reports, trend and analyse data for optimisation
- Operation of respective vendor and client PLC systems for plant monitoring and control
- Commissioning activities to ensure equipment is brought online safely and effectively
- Working collaboratively with other personnel including maintenance, electrical and process to safely maintain plant status
- Involvement in driving Process Safety principles through meetings and reviews
- Vendor liaison to discuss operational data, confirm process performance, evaluate issues/opportunities related to safety and/or optimisation.
Qualifications and Experience
- Tertiary qualifications in a Process or Chemical engineering
- Demonstrated experience in a process plant environment in an engineering role, with strong ability to analyse/interpret and report on plant operation
- Oil/gas industry knowledge with respect to gas production and usage, inclusive of shutdown and start up protocols and monitoring
- Furnace or Hot Metals experience, Smelter Operations (Pyromet)
- Knowledge of PLC use, Process Operations related to reduction and smelting fundamentals, reduction kinetics and ore chemistry associated with green iron production
- Great interpersonal skills and ability to build positive relationships with a range of stakeholders
- HA awareness and understanding, safety systems and controls related to gas plants and hot metals work.
