Responsible for the efficient daily operation of the Ore Processing Facility, the Process Operator Leading Hand role is key to ensuring the smooth processing of iron ore from raw material to finished product, and adhering to safety and environmental policies. Your role is essential in maximizing plant efficiency and product quality, directly impacting our operational success.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, guide and mentor team.
- Operate and monitor processing equipment and facilities, ensuring efficient throughput and high-quality output.
- Conduct regular general inspections and maintenance of equipment to ensure operational reliability.
- Ensure compliance with Fortescue’s safety protocols and environmental regulations at all times.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to facilitate repairs and preventive maintenance.
Qualifications and Experience
- Proven leadership and organisational abilities.
- Demonstrated understanding of Statutory obligations
- Holds S26 Exam Certification (desired but not essential)
- Previous experience as a Process Operator, preferably in the mining industry or a related heavy industrial environment.
- Experience operating systems – SCADA, Citect, Simplicity, and Meridian.
- Experience operating large crushing screening processing plants including, cone crushing circuits, conveying systems, train load out and associated plant components.
- Current and valid WA C-Class driver’s licence.
- Working at heights qualification desirable.
