Work Location: Fortescue Centre Fortescue's Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.

 

Roster: Monday to Friday

The key mission of this role will be to drive the roadmap, agile delivery and adoption of innovative software and systems to deliver on this vision. The right candidate will bring familiarity and interest in AI-based operations transformation and digital decision support, experience in building close relationships with operations stakeholders, and a passion for product management and agile delivery in cross-functional teams 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Create a purpose-led, high-performing culture within your delivery team that is aligned with the company values, and is laser-focused on delivering value for your customers and the wider company
  • Leverage innovation, thought leadership, and domain expertise to develop a vision for AI systems and solutions that deliver significant value to company
  • Develop and communicate business cases for new AI systems and solutions, including value opportunity sizing, delivery model, and stakeholder alignment
  • Conduct data analysis and user research to identify core business problems, design innovative solutions, and evangelise these with end-users and stakeholders to get buy-in
  • Within scope evaluate existing and emerging technologies and/or solutions that can accelerate value delivery, direct existing development, or initiate new strategic direction
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate roadmap for AI system and solution work programs to stakeholders throughout the company
  • Build, groom and prioritise product backlogs, developing user stories and acceptance criteria and managing product teams to ensure timely and high quality delivery
  • Define, implement, and track performance metrics once solutions enter production including adoption and impact, with a strong focus on real-world value delivery
  • In collaboration with technical leadership, define the set of necessary competencies and skills required in the delivery team
  • Drive user adoption and engagement, running demos and showcases to the target users and the broader business
  • Support development and implementation of training and change management programs for delivered technologies

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Domain expertise with technical project delivery experience in one or more of the following areas;
    • Production scheduling
    • Mine engineering
    • Mine Control
    • Geostatistics and geological modelling
    • Green energy and green hydrogen projects, green technology
  • Experience in the application and/or development of AI & digital decision support solutions and systems to drive improvements in mining, renewable energy, or heavy industrial applications
  • Experience with application of machine learning, optimization, simulation, and/or industrial mathematics in mining, renewable energy, or heavy industrial applications
  • Experience in cross-functional teams and ability to communicate effectively across multiple business areas (e.g., operations, technology)
  • Experience with modern product development including Agile and OKR methodologies, lean testing and user research, product roadmap development, and vision creation
