Our Opportunity

Work Location: Perth – Fortescue’s office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk People of the Noongar Nation.

Roster: Monday to Friday

The key mission of this role will be to drive the roadmap, agile delivery and adoption of AI software and systems to deliver on this vision. The right candidate will bring familiarity and interest in AI-based operations transformation, experience in building close relationships with operations stakeholders and a passion for product management and agile delivery in cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop vision for AI systems and solutions and a value-based roadmap, lead quarterly planning sessions and define OKRs.
  • Develop business cases for new AI systems and solutions, including value opportunity sizing, delivery model and stakeholder alignment.
  • Conduct data analysis and user research to define product requirements and features, including clear documentation to enable development.
  • Build, groom and prioritise the product backlog, developing user stories and acceptance criteria to feed into each sprint and accepting sprint results.
  • Define, implement, and track performance metrics once solutions enter production including adoption and impact.
  • In collaboration with technical leadership, define the set of necessary competencies and skills required in the delivery team.
  • Drive user adoption and engagement, running demos and showcases to the target users and the broader business.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 7+ years of experience in either AI & analytics product development OR mine operations technical disciplines (i.e. mining, blending, supply chain operations) with technical project delivery experience.
  • Experience in cross-functional teams and ability to communicate effectively across multiple business areas (e.g., operations, technology).
  • Background that comprises solid business understanding and high-level understanding of product delivery.
  • Modern product development toolkit including experience in agile development and OKR methodologies, lean testing and user research, and product roadmap development & vision creation.
  • Experience in the use of AI solutions & systems to drive improvements to efficiency and productivity in mining or heavy industrial applications.
