We are seeking a motivated Project Hydrogeologist to lead a small team in delivering high-quality hydrogeological projects across our Solomon operations. This role is critical in the planning, execution and oversight of water well drilling programmes, ensuring accurate data collection, robust analysis, and clear communication to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of field Hydrogeologists.
  • Plan, implement and supervise hydrogeological drilling projects.
  • Oversee data collection, QA/QC processes, and database management.
  • Provide technical input into scheduling, budgeting and contractor management.
  • Prepare and review project documentation, including Field Recon reports, LUC applications, POW reviews and scopes of work.
  • Supervise field activities including earthworks, drilling and pump testing.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE standards and promote a culture of zero harm.
  • Investigate and resolve incidents relating to hydro drilling operations.
  • Deliver accurate reporting and maintain strong communication with internal stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in Engineering Geology, Hydrogeology, or Geosciences (MSc in Hydrogeology preferred).
  • Proven applied experience in hydrogeology, ideally in mine water management and water bore drilling within open-pit mining.
  • Strong knowledge of hydrogeological modelling, monitoring, and data interpretation.
  • Practical experience with LUC and POW processes.
  • Proficiency in hydrogeological software and data management.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate teams.
  • Excellent communication and time management abilities.
