Work Location: Eliwana - Fortescue’s Eliwana mine is located on the traditional lands of the Puutu Kunti Kurrama people.

 

 

 

Roster: 8 days on and 6 days off

 

 

 

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and engaging high performing operational readiness Project Lead to join the Autonomous Fleet Soloutions team.  This role will be responsible for leading the implementation and integration of autonomous mining systems into customer site operations. This role ensures that all facets of operational readiness are achieved—across people, process, technology, and infrastructure—to enable the successful deployment and sustainable operation of Autonomous Haulage Systems (AHS) products to customer operational sites.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Site based project leadership and deployment of Autonomous Haulage Systems (AHS) products to meet operational readiness milestones, including schedule, cost and quality control
  • Ensure all readiness activities align with company safety standards, mine regulations, and statutory obligations
  • Develop, maintain, and execute the operational readiness plan for autonomous system deployment, including timelines, milestones, change management, risk mitigation, and stakeholder engagement
  • Ensure project documentation, procedures and approvals align with statutory and customer site operational requirements
  • Collaborate with relevant internal and external stakeholders including site leadership, technical teams, operations, maintenance, safety and training departments to ensure alignment and readiness
  • Identify operational, cultural, and technical risks associated with autonomous system introduction. Lead change management strategies to ensure a smooth transition
  • Support workforce planning, training program delivery, and upskilling/reskilling initiatives
  • Establish, maintain and monitor key readiness metrics and milestones to ensure safety, productivity and compliance are embedded into the autonomous operating model, providing regular status reports to leadership and key stakeholders.

 

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • 3+ years perferred experience in an operational / production capacity with autonomous mining systems, which may include Autonomous Haulage Systems, Autonomous Drills Systems, Non-Line of Sight Dozers, Tele-remote technologies
  • 3+ years operational / production experience in an open cut mining environment
  • 1+ years experience in project management and implementation of new technology projects
  • Must be able to work with wide-range of stakeholders, building and maintaining rapport, understanding stakeholder needs and using influencing skills to establish a win-win outcome
  • Advanced computer literacy & passion for Mining Autonomy, Innovation and Technology
  • Must be able to multitask on several activities/priorities at the same time
  • Excellent communication/presentation skills with the ability to convey technical detail, potential risks and opportunities within the planned works to a variety of stakeholders.
