Projects Coordinator - Rail
Our Opportunity
Work Location: Hedland (Rail) - Fortescue’s Hedland Operations are located on the traditional lands of the Kariyarra people.
Roster: 4D/3R - FIFO ex Perth; or 4D/3R or 5D/2R Residential as agreed with management.
We are currently seeking an experienced Projects Coordinator - Rail, to join our Rail Engineering team at our Fortescue Hedland Operations. Reporting to the Rail Superintendent Reliability and Projects, you will primarily manage the delivery of projects and lead a dedicated team of engineering project managers. Your focus will be on ensuring the safe delivery of the rail engineering projects portfolio for our Rail Operations, Rollingstock, and Infrastructure.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced project manager who excels at managing a high volume of tasks effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a strong projects team to deliver a group of CAPEX projects.
- Oversee project portfolio scheduling, forecasting, and spending.
- Provide regular reporting and updates to stakeholders.
- Ensure the safe and compliant delivery of project works according to applicable legislation, standards, Fortescue policy, and industry best practices.
- Develop business cases and ensure adherence to company project frameworks.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to achieve optimal project outcomes.
- Contribute to the detailed design and review of electrical, instrumentation, and control systems.
- Full lifecycle project management of projects across all disciplines, including overseeing the execution of site works.
- Mentor undergraduates, graduates and project engineers.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of multi-discipline project delivery experience.
- Proven experience in leading project teams.
- Project management qualification – preferred.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- Commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.
