QAQC Downhole Geophysicist
Our Opportunity
Work Location: Perth. Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.
Roster: Monday to Friday
We are seeking a driven, independent, and detail-focused professional to join our team as a QAQC Downhole Geophysicist.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing the quality assurance and control of Fortescue’s downhole geophysical data, with a strong emphasis on maintaining data accuracy, consistency, and integrity.
The position requires a keen eye for detail and a solid foundation in data management and geophysical analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and manage downhole geophysical data within Fortescue’s database.
- Utilize SQL coding to manage and query geophysical data.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate data management processes.
- Support the Downhole Geophysics team in site trials and other field activities as needed.
- Assist in project management tasks as required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Geophysics, Geology, or Tertiary qualification in a related field.
- Familiarity with downhole geophysical logging techniques and tools.
- Experience in collecting, processing, or managing downhole geophysical data is highly desirable.
- High attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Proven experience with SQL coding and working knowledge of Python coding desirable.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with various stakeholders.
- Project management experience.
- Experience with acQuire, Snowflake, PowerBI, ArcMAP and/or WellCAD software is highly desirable.
