Our Opportunity

 

Location: Perth - with 25% site presence - Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people. 

 

Roster: Monday to Friday

 

As our RPAS Compliance Officer, you will be the cornerstone of our RPAS operations, overseeing everything from regulatory oversight to risk assessment and team training. You’ll ensure that our operations meet and exceed the standards set by civil aviation legislation and CASA, and work closely with a highly skilled multidisciplinary team both domestically and internationally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Regulatory Oversight: Manage RPAS operations across 5 Fortescue sites, ensuring strict adherence to civil aviation legislation.
  • Qualification & Compliance: Verify that all RPAS operators are qualified and skilled, maintaining accurate records of operator credentials.
  • Audit & Corrective Actions: Conduct internal audits, review findings, and implement necessary corrective actions promptly.
  • Fatigue Management: Oversee scheduling and rostering of RPAS operators to mitigate fatigue-related risks.
  • Document Management: Maintain an up-to-date reference library of all operational documents required by CASA.
  • Maintenance Control: Serve as the Maintenance Controller in accordance with CASA Advisory Circular AC101-05.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives that drive the continuous advancement of our RPAS technology and operational practices.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven expertise in RPAS operations and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong background in aviation and mining regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience in risk assessment, internal auditing, and team training.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams both locally and internationally.
  • A proactive approach to technology advancements and continuous improvement.
