Our Opportunity

Work Location: Perth – Fortescue’s office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk People of the Noongar Nation.

Roster: Monday to Friday

 

The Receptionist provides a welcoming and professional first point of contact for all visitors and callers to Fortescue’s Perth office. This role plays a key part in ensuring the smooth and professional operation of front-of-house services, supporting both employees and guests, and maintaining a safe, organised, and customer-focused environment.

 

Working closely with administrative and facilities teams, the Receptionist ensures reception and office areas operate efficiently, presenting Fortescue as a professional and innovative organisation committed to excellence in all areas of its operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a professional, friendly, and efficient reception service to all visitors, staff, and stakeholders.
  • Manage a busy switchboard, promptly answering and directing incoming calls.
  • Ensure front-of-house security protocols are followed at all times, including visitor registration and access procedures.
  • Notify the appropriate staff or departments upon guest arrivals, ensuring a smooth visitor experience.
  • Maintain the professional appearance of reception, meeting rooms, kitchens, and shared spaces.
  • Coordinate mailroom services, including incoming and outgoing mail and courier requests.
  • Monitor and order office and kitchen supplies to ensure availability at all times.
  • Accurately update and maintain registers, logs, and records as required.
  • Report building and maintenance issues promptly to the relevant teams.
  • Provide general administrative support to office and business functions as needed.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Previous experience in a reception or front-of-house role (desirable).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage positively with staff and visitors.
  • Ability to prioritise, organise, and manage multiple tasks in a busy environment.
  • Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to respond effectively to changing demands.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Administration skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience with SAP (desirable).
  • Effective team player who contributes to a supportive and professional workplace culture.
  • Minimum completion of Year 10 education.
