Our Opportunity

Role: Reliability Engineer NPI

 

Work Location: Fortescue’s Cloudbreak mine is located on the traditional lands of the Palyku and Nyiyaparli peoples.

 

Roster: 8D/6X ex Perth, Broome, Karratha

 

Reporting to: Lead Reliability Engineer Supervisor

 

This role is responsible for enhancing the reliability and performance of rotating plant equipment through data analysis, technical expertise and project management. This role involves developing maintenance strategies, supporting operational teams, and leading reliability projects in line with asset management standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular analysis of reliability data, including SAP metrics, TUM data, breakdowns and maintenance costs
  • Identify and implement improvement opportunities for maintenance strategies at all respective sites
  • Provide technical support and recommendations as a subject matter expert to improve equipment reliability.
  • Lead and implement projects to improve equipment reliability, such as Maintenance Strategies reviews and Plant Maintenance optimisation (PMO).
  • Maintain all Non-Process Infrastructure, supporting Civil/Building maintenance, Fresh Water and Grey Water Plants, Diesel Systems and Green Energy Hub
  • Ensure site-based Maintenance groups act on recommendations to reduce downtime and prevent premature failures.
  • Support the development and implementation of the reliability and continuous improvement framework.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years site based, Fixed Plant or Rotating Equipment as a Mechanical Engineer
  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Strong knowledge of asset management principles
  • Knowledge of EAM, CMMS software, including knowledge of SAP
  • Working understanding of Condition Monitoring and lubrication techniques
  • Proven track record in managing technical projects and team performance
